I haven’t read all of the articles yet, but it’s been another fun issue so far. You can find them all here: [https://pagedout.institute/](https://pagedout.institute/)

One fun article was about rooting an IoT camera by using it’s “sonic pairing” feature to exploit some overflows.

Oh, this zine is interesting… never heard of it before. I poked around a bit and I really enjoyed reading _Modern 4K Intros on the Demoscene_ on page 19. I don’t know much about the demoscene, but I have been mildly interested in it for a while, so it was nice to know what the current “meta” is right now. Signed distance fields (SDFs) are pretty useful, huh? I think I heard of a new technique better than SDF, but I forgot what it was called…

As an aside, when I was looking into demoscene stuff before I found a really interesting IDE for making demos. I had forgotten the name for a while, and I finally found it again recently. It’s called [TiXL](https://tixl.app/) (previously known as Tooll Version 4). Maybe I’ll try using it sometime soon?

Yeah demoscene stuff is usually really cool! That article also has a lot of good info and links to cool resources. We watched some [https://www.youtube.com/@revisionparty/videos](https://www.youtube.com/@revisionparty/videos) in Yukie’s discord and it was very fun.

Haven’t heard of TiXL/Tooll before but it looks like cool reactive visuals, would definitely be fun to play around with this kind of thing! I wanted to do stuff like this in Godot (like for a Godoverlay) but haven’t tackled it yet.

I wasn’t sure about what could be competing with SDFs, but I did some quick searches and all I could find in a pinch were these folks talking about Vector Distance Functions: [vdf – SGI 2024](https://summergeometry.org/sgi2024/tag/vdf/)
