A rogue artist has entered the scene

Hi I’m Jib (She/Her/They/Them)!
I started out in illustration and sequential art. I got a job in gov tech because of needing money to live and luck kind of landed me there.

My wife is the smart one in this relationship and she went to school for animation/rigging and was working at a pre-visualization studio for a while for movies and shows. We have a team of 15 people right now to work on our first ever game. We decided to skip the part of making small solo dev games and are just going all in lmaoo
I really don’t know much about coding at all or game engines but i love hearing you guys talk about it and I’m glad to be able to be here with you all.

My role in my studio is lead writer/editor and 2d artist. We do all of our writing in the Inky editor c: The game we’re working on is an visual novel adventure game with both 2d and 3d elements. We’re planning the release of our prototype for the game later this year and will be putting out a bunch of marketing / progress posts and such soon! I’m so excited to be able to share things with you guys!!

This is getting long i’m sorry!! Personal: I love playing games with great story. video games are my favorite way to deliver a story because of the interactivity that allows for the player to participate in the story. I have 2 cats and a dog. I’ve been thinking about streaming my work in development but im worried about having time to actually do that and still get work done but every time i watch exo stream im like i should do this too orz
anyways this was long and rambley so i’ll leave you with a concept / key art that i painted for our game that hasn’t been released yet. special sneak peek ok

thanks for reading byyeeee

I am here for the longposts!!! It’s one reason we have a forum. I’m very excited to see what you’re working on in News.

Also, I think Inky just lets you test the dialog; what engine are you planning on making the game in?

yeah inky is just where you write the dialogue you have to implement it into an engine. We’re using unity and my wife is the one handling all of that bc i have no clue lol. i know she is interested in moving to gadot eventually bc there is support being worked on for ink in gadot right now but for now we are in unity c:

whoa that’s really pretty! I like how the trees look like they’re giving each other a hug! And also the little guy(?) who’s lifting up that stone thing. Would be cool to see more as y’all make progress

thank you! they are giving each other a hug im glad its easy to see <3
the game loop is that youre working at a convenience store that primarily services spirits and the little fire spirits that live in lanterns and such are some of those spirits! my thought for this one was that it’s leaving its home to go and visit its friend in the other stone lantern
