It’s a 2D game, with a cute witch and her cat, exploring a mysterious tower! It has Tower of Sorcerer/Magic Tower/WWA, gameplay (think Zelda, but number goes up). I will show off the demo at Godot Con Amsterdam if you wanna meet up. We’re recording footage to make the trailer now.
I’ve been working on this the past few months. After the release of Dice’n Goblins, I tried to work immediately on another crawler, but was struggling a lot with the art direction. I got really depressed. I took this project to rest a bit, and it advanced at a much quicker space, due to the scope and ambitions being way down.
We reached to a lot of Publisher, and got some interests, but didn’t catch any fish in the end. We got congratulated for our pitch deck so I guess that’s nice. Some publishers were nice, some publisher were rude (I feel like gamedev is the worst industry I worked on, in that regard). We were either asking for too little money (they’re financing bigger projects), or too much (they’re trying to make a quick buck). We learned a lot.
Whoa! I remember seeing you post about working on this game a few months ago, I’m very happy to see that it’s getting further! Great banner art, by the way ^^
I hope GodotCon Amsterdam is good. I wish I could go, but alas, I don’t think I can. Let us know how it goes!
If you have other games you think fits the genra aesthetically/gameplay wise, can you recommend them to me ? Fishing for ideas and checking how they would market their games.
(Yeah I read a long time ago and answered just now :'D)
Ah nice rec! I went to make my combat screen a bit like they did and players seems to like it. Thanks!
@ZeikJT Nice. I went to read a bit their steam pages for the one I don’t know about.
@exodrifter I played Moonring and really liked their sound design amongst all things lol The very soft sounds all over were super comfy. Unfortunately, I’m not that good at digging or doctoring sound effect myself.
