The t/suki forum (where you are right now) is an instance of the open-source software Discourse.
Guide
Discourse has several different communication methods built in:
Method | Use Case |
---|---|
Topic | Typically used for slower but more in-depth discussion. Also known as threads on other forums. |
Private Message (PM) | Like topics, but for a limited set of recipients. You can think of this as writing letters to each other. |
Chat | Typically used for faster, realtime communication. |
Direct Message (DM) | Like chat, but for a limited set of recipients. |
Trust Levels
Discourse has a user trust system which restricts or grants you more rights over time based on your activity. For detailed information about this system, see Understanding Discourse Trust Levels and the Trust Level Permissions Reference.
The user trust system refers to each trust level with a few different names, described below:
Trust level | Also known as |
---|---|
0 | TL0, new user |
1 | TL1, basic user |
2 | TL2, member |
3 | TL3, regular |
4 | TL4, leader |
Many settings related to trust level are unchanged with the following exceptions:
- Since t/suki is an invite-only forum, all new users start at TL1 instead of TL0.
- In general, you need TL2 to fully access and participate in most of the services, like being able to create your own invite links, accessing the official t/suki gitplace, and editing the documentation.
